Two Artesia Police Department (APD) officers were recognized this month for their efforts to keep local roadways safe from drunk drivers. Officer James Contreras was named an Outstanding DWI Enforcement Officer and Officer Matthew Martinez an Excellent DWI Enforcement Officer during the Eddy County DWI Program’s annual Law Enforcement Tribute. “Their hard work and commitment to keeping the streets safe is greatly appreciated!” the APD said in a Facebook post.
