At last week’s meeting of the Artesia City Council, Hayley Klein of the Artesia Chamber of Commerce informed city officials of her intent to apply for status as an arts and cultural district for the city.

If approved, Artesia would become the seventh city to receive such recognition from the New Mexico Arts Commission.
