Jonathan “Jon” Henry is announcing his candidacy for the New Mexico House of Representatives, District 54. This seat is currently held by Jim Townsend, who is seeking election to the NM Senate after serving 10 years as a Representative of District 54.

Jon has served 7 years as an Eddy County Commissioner in District 2. He is also serving his first term as Mayor of Artesia, NM.

“I will bring both County and City leadership experience to Santa Fe. I have unique experience in both capacities, not often seen at the State level of Representation. It is my desire to bring a more common sense approach to well intentioned but poorly written legislation before it is passed to negatively impact our community services and operations.”

Jon is a Real Estate Agent with Lois Oliver Real Estate and has lived in Artesia for 14 years.

“I was born and raised in the Sacramento Mountains and spent much of my childhood in many areas District 54 encompasses. I am looking forward to reconnecting with these areas and representing their needs and values in Santa Fe.”
