“On behalf of the Artesia Board of Education and Mr. Lowell Irby, our president, we’re just very happy that the voters turned out yesterday and supported our school district needs and helping our children with the technology needs we have and with keeping our schools in good school condition and good safe condition,” APS Superintendent Mike Phipps said today.
A total of 579 votes were cast Tuesday, with 543 voting for the levy and 36 voting against.
With the levy’s passage, Artesia has continued its tradition of having never voted down an APS-related levy or bond, an impressive streak that dates back to 1977.
