ARTESIA — The Artesia Public Schools (APS) will release early Friday, Oct. 6, to allow staff and students to attend the funeral service of Mack Chase.
The funeral is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Friday at Bulldog Bowl.
Schools will dismiss according to the following schedule:
• 1:05 p.m. – Grand Heights Early Childhood Center
• 1:15 p.m. – All elementary schools
• 1:20 p.m. – Zia Intermediate, Park Junior High and Artesia High School
Those attending the funeral are asked to enter on the east (visitors’) side of the stadium. The northwest (home) entrance will be closed to the public in order to allow access for members of the Chase family.
“Mack was a true Bulldog!” the APS said in a statement issued today. “Words can’t express his dedication to the Artesia Public Schools. His generosity was truly remarkable and has had a profound impact on our community, school district and most importantly our students. He will be deeply missed but his legacy will go on forever.”
