Bomb squad clears out Wal-Mart in false alarm

Local authorities were dispatched to Wal-Mart at approximately 8:18 p.m. Saturday in reference to a possible bomb. The Artesia Police Department says the reporting party gave a vague description of a device in the southeast corner of the store, but police could not locate the device.
A bomb squad from the New Mexico State Police was contacted, and the building was vacated for two hours before staff and customers were allowed to reenter. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
