City receives funds for fire training tower

The Eddy County Commission approved $500,000 to the City of Artesia today for the construction of a tower to train Artesia and county firefighters. The half-million dollars from the county will be matched by an additional $500,000 from Artesia to begin the project.

“I’m on board for anything that gets volunteers out there and training,” said Eddy County Fire Service Coordinator Robert Brader.
