The Eddy County Board of Commissioners is nearing a decision regarding redistricting.
Commissioners held a public meeting last night in Carlsbad to openly discuss the redistricting and to receive public input.
While no one from the public attended the meeting, commissioners were able to hammer out a plan of attack after juggling precincts between their five districts.
Due to population shifts within the county, the district boundaries are being redrawn to ensure the general population is properly represented in county government.
