Artesia representatives held a third town hall meeting Thursday to discuss the detention of undocumented women with children at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC). This was the city’s third town hall meeting to discuss the facility, operated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), following meetings in July and August.
The immigrants came primarily from El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala in what Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials have called an “unprecedented” influx of women with children and unaccompanied minors across U.S. borders this year. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
