Community Development Director Tina Torres prompted much of the discussion at Tuesday night’s meeting of the Artesia City Council, and the council ultimately passed ordinances to vacate various lots of land, make changes to the Municipal Code Home Occupation Business Licenses, and approve the sale of vacant properties around Artesia by sealed bid.
Two ordinances were considered and approved by the council: specifically, to vacate the alley in Block 13 of the Blair Addition and the Blair Addition Block 13 Replat (the land where the Park Motel once stood). The area of land given to the county will be home to new buildings designated for the DMV and the County Clerk’s Office. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
Torres brought forward some changes to chapter 9-12 of the Municipal Code Home Occupation Business Licenses. Approved by the council, the new changes will help to “streamline” the process undergone by home business owners.
