The Artesia City Council gained a new member at Tuesday night’s regularly-scheduled meeting.

Bill Rogers, general manager of Pecos Valley Equipment, was recommended by Artesia Mayor Phillip Burch to fill a district four seat left vacant when Mayor Pro Tem George Holmes resigned in June.

Before a vote to affirm Rogers was held, councilors grilled Rogers with regard to his background. …
