Eddy County intends to construct a complex in Artesia after swapping land with the city.

The Eddy County Board of Commissioners voted Tuesday to sign a memorandum of understanding with the City of Artesia to exchange parcels of land to maximize the beneficial use of the properties for the citizens of Artesia and Eddy County.

The county will be trading ownership of its property, located near the 100 block of North First Street, for the city property, located near the 600 block of South First Street.

Both parties agreed the comparative values of the two properties were essentially equal, and the exchange of the properties will not result in any cash payment exchanged between the two parties. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
