When Jess Carpenter charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of his friend, Joseph Darras, in 2011, Carpenter told investigators the shooting had been an accident. When his attorney, Ray Twohig, commissioned polygraph expert Peter Pierangeli in November of 2012, he literally put Carpenter’s story to the test.

Pierangeli has administered more than 37,500 polygraph tests throughout his 23-year career as the PGP Polygraph Firm’s principle examiner.
