Members of Smith Engineering held a public meeting Wednesday night at the Public Safety Complex concerning the infrastructure improvements for 13th Street.
As Javier Jaramillo, the design engineer for the 13th Street project and vice president of Smith Engineering, said at the opening of the meeting, the reconstruction of 13th Street will be the first of two phases in the Infrastructure Recovery Plan (IRP), a five-year plan costing an estimated $90 million that will focus on Artesia’s water, sanitary, sewer, drainage and roadway issues. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
The IRP’s first phase will focus on repairing the northern half of 13th Street from Richey Avenue to Main Street. Once that’s complete, the stretch of 13th from Main Street to Hermosa Drive will receive the same treatment.
