Former Artesia resident Daniel A. Cardon was convicted last May in the murder of his estranged wife, Lucila Perez, and according to the Artesia Police Department, Perez’s death is a harsh example of the tragedy that can result when a pattern of domestic violence isn’t treated effectively.
