On Saturday, August 5, our foundation, along with Changing Lives Coalition, Eddy County United Way, and Faith Baptist Student Ministries held our annual Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive. We identified 373 students throughout the Artesia, Cloudcroft, Lake Arthur, and Hagerman school districts that would need school supplies for the upcoming school year.

Students in Artesia were sent an invitation flyer the last week of school to attend the event on August 5 to pick out their backpack and supplies. We boxed up the supplies for identified students from the out of town districts.

We were blessed to help not only the 373 identified students, but 101 more students who came to our event to pick up school supplies! Thanks to our many donors and volunteers, we were able to help 474 students start their first day of school with a new backpack and supplies.

We would like to thank the following businesses for partnering with us to collect the thousands of school supply items needed for our recent school supply drive.

Thank you to Artesia Daily Press, Artesia Police Department, Catalyst Church, Eddy County United Way, E.O.G., Faith Baptist Church First American Bank, First Baptist Church, J.S. Ward & Son, Kith & Kin Roasting Co., Oceanbags Foundation, PVT, Tate Branch Auto Group, and Western Bank for collecting and donating all the school supplies and backpacks.

Distribution Day for the school supplies would not have flowed so seamlessly without the help of these volunteers who sorted, transported, and set up supplies for the drive, as well as helped students gather the supplies needed from their school list.

A huge thank you to Olivia Bunt, Carrie and Crit Caton, Reyna and Vash’ti Garcia, Josh Howard, Elisabeth, Claire, and Madison Jackson, Victoria Mariscal, Ashley and Joseph Martinez, Emily and Sarah Mathison, Savanna and Paityn McBeth, Joceyline Montanez, Terah and Kadence Sexton, MacKenna Smoot, Kaitlyn Stack, John Sterling, Michael Vasquez, Brianna Willard, and Tate, Houston, Kassidy, and Marleigh Branch. We appreciate you volunteering your time on Saturday to help the students.
