A fourth-generation Artesian has been selected for the Hobbs Jaycees 2011 Young Man of the Year Award.

Grant A. Taylor, 30, the President and CEO of the Hobbs Chamber of Commerce, was one of five community award recipients in the annual event.

“It was really unexpected for me,” he said. “I’ve been in the (Hobbs) community for such a short time.”

Although Taylor has lived in Hobbs for only three years, he has already contributed greatly to the community. He served on the Main Street Hobbs Board of Directors for two years and took on a large community survey for the Community Drug Coalition of Lea Country. Taylor also founded and managed the EnergyPlex Association, a networking organization for human resource professionals. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
