Judging by the numbers resulting from the Junior Livestock Auction alone, the 67th Annual Eddy County Fair was the most successful to date. It is the third consecutive year that sale numbers have reached a record-breaking total.
With the 2012 sales total reaching $480,550, last year’s record of $397,000 was shattered by $83,550. As of 6 p.m. Saturday, the auction had also received $48,270 in add-ons, already surpassing last year’s add-ons of $44,870 with more continuing to be submitted. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
“We had an absolutely fantastic sale,” John Bain, president of the Eddy County Fair Board, said. “Any time you can keep improving on your numbers, especially with the way the economy is, you’re doing well … The buyers in our junior livestock sale, the businesses and individuals in Eddy County are just some of the best people you’ll ever find.”
