ARTESIA — Anessa (Scott) Golden has made the transition this year from Hagerman to Artesia High School, where she is teaching 10th through 12th-grade English at her alma mater.

Golden, a 2000 graduate of AHS, began teaching English at Hagerman High in August of 2007. She graduated in 2005 from Eastern New Mexico University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.

Golden was active in FFA and Paw Prowlers while in high school and says returning to AHS as an educator is a dream come true for her.

“Coming back to Artesia and teaching at AHS has always been a dream of mine since I began seeking a degree in teaching and also since I began teaching four years ago,” Golden said. “It is surreal to be back and teaching at AHS with many of the teachers I had when I was a student. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
