By the time the commencement exercises at Bulldog Bowl come to a close tonight, a total of 188 students will have walked across the stage.
“We are very excited about it,” Superintendent Mike Phipps said today. “It is the culmination of education for public school and we look forward to honoring these students.”
The ceremony, which is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m., will include performances from the high school band. Senior class president Joslyn Boone will lead the pledge of allegiance and graduating seniors Colton Campbell and Christopher Worley are the scheduled speakers.
Dr. Crit Caton, assistant superintendent of curriculum, will lead the presentation of honors. High school principal Thad Phipps will lead the presentation of the class and the Artesia Board of Education will present the diplomas.
