ARTESIA —Crystal Carreles, a medical assistant and phlebotomist, Sarah Jimenez, a LPN with Memorial Family Practice, and Jennifer Smoot, a RN with the Emergency Department, received scholarships recently from the Artesia General Hospital Fund to continue their academic careers.
Jimenez said that, with her scholarship, she will pursue an Associate’s Degree in Nursing at Excelsior College and hopes to someday become a nurse practitioner. Carreles will be working on two degrees to become a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and hopes to continue on to get her Master’s degree, as well. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
