ARTESIA — Following a long and, at times, arduous journey, the Peter Hurd mural “The Future Belongs to Those Who Prepare for It” has finally been unveiled at the new Artesia Public Library.

The curved 16-foot-by-46-foot, 58,000-pound fresco mural made its road trek from Houston, Texas, to a storage facility in Midland, Texas, and then to Artesia and its subsequent installation through the new library’s retractable roof without incident, but unfortunately, it did not arrived unscathed. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
