Japheth Rascon, 35, of Artesia, and his wife, Samantha Rascon, 32, were arrested Wednesday afternoon in reference to standing magistrate warrants on respective charges of aggravated battery and unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.
The battery charge stems from a Nov. 9 incident in which a victim was attacked on his way from his residence to visit a neighbor, police say. According to the Artesia Police Department report, the victim was walking on Roselawn Avenue when Japheth Rascon allegedly rushed behind him, kicked him in the leg, pushed him down, and then punched him in the face before fleeing the scene. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
