Following an extremely low-scoring first half Tuesday at Bulldog Pit, it looked as though the District 4-AAAA-opening matchup between the Lady Bulldogs and the Goddard Lady Rockets could be anybody’s game.
But the Artesia girls came out for the second half with a vengeance, kicking up their offensive production while using a frenetic defense to limit Goddard’s. And the result was a 40-22 win for the girls in orange in the first outing of the “second season.”
“The first half was a little slow for us,” Lady ‘Dog head coach Jeff Houghtaling said today, “but the second half was much better. The girls did a great job, and we’re very pleased to get started in district with a win.” … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
