CARLSBAD — Eddy County Commission Chairman Roxanne Lara announced Tuesday that she will not seek reelection to the commission.
“Serving the citizens of Eddy County has been a true honor and privilege, and every day I am thankful for the opportunity,” Lara said.

Lara said she was pleased to have been part of the team that completed millions of dollars in construction projects, largely using local contractors. The jail has been expanded, the administration complex redone, a new clerk’s office and new sheriff’s offices in Artesia built and plans laid for much more.
