Hayley Klein, executive director of the Artesia Chamber of Commerce, announced Tuesday the impending arrival of the 14-foot-tall, 45-foot-long Peter Hurd mural for the unfinished new Artesia Public Library in an update given to the Eddy County Commission.
The 56,000-pound mural, originally painted by Hurd in 1952, will complete its nearly 200-mile journey from a storage facility in Midland, Texas, on Wednesday, Aug. 28. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
