A red Toyota Corolla sits incapacitated following an accident that occurred Wednesday at 12th Street and Grand Avenue. According to an Artesia Police Department officer on the scene, the Corolla was traveling southbound on 12th Street when it encountered one of the long lines of cars stopped at the traffic light at 13th Street and Grand Avenue that typically occurs at lunchtime and after school near Artesia High School. The driver was having difficulty seeing and was given the “go ahead” from another driver, upon which the Corolla turned east onto Grand and struck the side of a Ram 1500 also heading east on Grand. The Corolla sustained massive front-end damage and was transported from the scene. The Ram sustained minor damage to its lower left side. No injuries were reported. Ben Theobald – Daily Press
