Cody Lightfoot with Southwest Dairy Museum Inc. of Sulphur Springs, Texas, demonstrates the most efficient way to milk “Peach” the Holstein cow this morning at the Artesia Public Library to the delight of local children in the Summer Reading Program. Prior to using the milking machine, Lightfoot also showed the children how to hand milk Peach. Most of the children agreed they wanted chocolate chip cookies with their milk. The reading program is ongoing through July 31. For more information, contact Youth Services Librarian Geri Dosalua at 748-9966. Teresa Lemon – Daily Press
