Moss moved to Artesia from Houston, Texas, two months ago.
“I have always liked New Mexico,” Moss said. “I have a sister that used to live in El Paso, and I traveled back and forth through New Mexico when I went on vacations. I have a soft spot for New Mexico, and I thought it’d be a good place to settle down in.”
Moss graduated in 1974 from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and History and his initial teacher certification. He then went into the military and worked for the Commanding General at the Army Intelligence Headquarters in Washington, D.C. For the next 10 years, Moss worked in the business industry and worked his way up from unloading trucks at night to being the regional sales manager of PMT Division of Southern Pacific Railroad in Houston before quitting to becoming a teacher.
