For Corporal Larry Horrell, Corporal Kendall Richardson and Sergeant Esteban Sepulveda of the Artesia Police Department, being a School Resource Officer (SRO) may be a tough job – especially considering the various roles that have to be filled – but it sure pays off.
“Since we’ve been in the schools, gang violence has dropped within the schools, fights have dropped almost completely off the chart, truancy has dropped, and overall crime within the schools is very low,” Horrell said. “Even though levels are as low as they are, I personally plan on doing what I can to have them drop even further.” … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
