Staff, board members receive library progress update Project Supervisor Todd Casper gives a tour of the new Artesia Public Library Wednesday evening to the Artesia Public Library staff as well as members of the Library Board. “We do this every two to three weeks because this is going to be their new home,” Casper said. “We want to make sure that everyone involved with the library is well aware of how the project is coming along, and this also gives them a chance to ask questions and receive some inside information about the project that they can then relay to the public.” Casper said the plumbing and duct work is already finished, the parapets and fire system are almost complete, “and the electricians are chasing the walls as they go.” The roofers are expected to begin work on Monday, March 18, and masons will start laying bricks on March 25.
