Firefighters with the Artesia Fire Department work to contain a structure fire that erupted at approximately 6:40 p.m. Thursday on Texas Avenue. The fire was located at a boarded, unoccupied home at 810 W. Texas Ave. and resulted in clouds of thick smoke over the area and drifting to the north. No further information was available as of press time today.
