Artesia High School senior Matt Baldwin participated in the Fine Arts and Youth Convention Competition March 16 in Albuquerque, performing a marimba solo for a panel of three judges. Baldwin received superior ratings with merit from all three judges, as well as an invitation to Nationals. He will make the trip to Louisville, Ky., in August to represent New Mexico and compete with other musicians from throughout the United States. Rob Larson - Daily Press
