Pictured from left are Artesia High School senior band members Brianna Delgado, Elizabeth Lewis and Brianna Phipps who will be crowned princesses following the Artesia Public Schools’ annual Sweetheart Concert at the AHS Auditorium at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8. The Jazz Band will begin the concert followed by the Intermediate School Advanced, Junior High and High School Bands. The bands will perform their concert contest music for the District Concert in April. The crowning of band sweethearts will follow immediately after the performances of the bands. This year, the sophomore princess is Sarah Solano, daughter of Angela and Randy Phillips and Cipriano Solano. The junior princess is Mireya Hernandez, daughter of Athena and Jose Pena. Senior princesses are Brianna Delgado, daughter of Annette and Arturo Vazquez, Briana Phipps, daughter of Thad and Alisha Phipps and Elizabeth Lewis, daughter of Katherine Lewis. There is no admission for the concert and the community is cordially invited to attend.
