Artesia High School students gather in the commons area this morning to celebrate the school’s winning of the KASA Fox Spirit Stick, a weekly contest held by the Albuquerque television station. Artesia defeated second-place Roswell 127,347 votes to 126,180. Volcano Vista received 1,767 votes and Rio Rancho 500. Fittingly, the Bulldog football team will open District 4-AAAA play today against Roswell High at Wool Bowl. Courtesy Photo
