An accident north of Artesia Tuesday morning left two injured when a semi truck collided with a SUV on the Roswell Highway near Compress Road.
The truck was hauling a tank filled with emulsion, the black tar used in making asphalt. During the accident, the tank fell off of its trailer and onto the roadside. The Artesia Fire Department says the tank’s contents did not present a public hazard, but the debris resulted in the closure of the southbound lane of the Roswell Highway that lasted more than four hours. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
