Jane Luevano and boyfriend of 15 years Al Martinez have been working since early 2012 to see a stoplight installed at U.S. 285 (First Street) and Richey Avenue, and their work finally came to fruition today.

The couple gathered a petition of more than 500 signatures last February and sent copies of the petition to members of the New Mexico State Legislature. The New Mexico Department of Transportation decided four months ago there was sufficient need to install the stoplight and provided necessary funding to see the project implemented and completed. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
