 Alexandra Mauritsen, a seventh-grader at Artesia (Zia) Intermediate School beat the school’s AR goal that had been held by her cousin, Kirsten Mauritsen, since 2005. Kirsten Mauritsen read 73 books and received 1,270.9 AR points for the school year, while Alexandra Mauritsen read 77 books and received 1,603.8 AR points.
