Scores of children and their parents found small plastic dinosaurs and other buried treasure Friday at the Artesia Museum and Historical Art Center.
The Bone Dig was part of the summer reading program of the Museum and Artesia Public Library.

The theme of this year’s program is dinosaur based, “Unearth a Story.”
Children of all ages sifted through dirt in kid sized swimming pools locating the buried loot.
In addition to digging for dinosaurs and other fossil related items, there were games like cornhole and ladder ball.

The summer reading program concludes July 17 with a final party. The museum is also hosting a dinosaur scavenger hunt.
