It’s time for the most magical night of the year in downtown Artesia: Light Up Artesia and the Electric Light Parade on Thursday, Nov. 30.

Bundle up and head downtown for a winter wonderland at The Derrick Floor – complete with a snow party by Let’s Have Foam at 6 p.m. Grab a warm bite from our downtown eateries or try something from one of the food trucks parked at The Derrick Floor. We have a brand new sleigh, shipped straight from the North Pole, ready for Christmas photo ops.

Businesses will be open for shopping, and don’t miss the vendors along Main Street. There will be hot cocoa bars, tamales, and other great treats. Drop your letter to Santa in the mailbox located in front of the Artesia Daily Press and settle in for the biggest-ever Electric Light Parade, leaving Bulldog Bowl and heading east along Main Street at 6 p.m.

We have more than 60 vehicles registered this year, including special guests the Artesia High School back-to-back state champion football team on float No. 32. Don’t miss Santa at the Ocotillo Performing Arts Center right after the parade.

Artesia MainStreet is excited to join the community in lighting up this holiday season, and we couldn’t pull off such an incredible night of free family fun without help from our Event Sponsors. Thank you to Xcel Energy, HF Sinclair and Straight Shot Electric.

We also want to thank our Snow Sponsors for helping turn The Derrick Floor into a winter wonderland: Permian Construction, Artesia Yard Cards, Lucky Duck Grill, T-Knox Properties, LLC, Buffalo Oilfield Supply, Ace Dumpster Rental, the Devyn Garcia Family, and Jim and Francis.
