Pictured, a pile of electronic devices bound for recycling sits at the Eddy County Fairgrounds July 17-18 during Artesia Clean & Beautiful’s (AC&B) annual eWaste Collection.

AC&B Director Linda Stevens reports the event saw 16,844 pounds of electronic waste collected, 2,313 pounds more than last year.

“In the 15 eWaste events we have had, we have collected 215.2335 tons of electronics for recycling,” Stevens said.

CARC Document Destruction of Carlsbad collected 2,739 pounds of paper for recycling at the event, which saw at least 45 businesses and individuals bring electronics and at least 14 bring documents.
