On Saturday, Oct. 7, Artesia General Hospital held the Tee-Off for Ta-Tas golf scramble at the Artesia Country Club to raise funds for women’s health resources.

This year, 19 teams of four participated in the event. Though the exact numerical data has not been finalized at this point, the scramble “amounts to the largest fundraiser of 2023 thus far.”

All proceeds go directly back to AGH to support the “radiology team’s initiative for breast cancer awareness,” says Kim Salgado, director of the AGH Foundation. This will include informational materials, promotionals, as well as partial coverage of colposcopy equipment, which can be used to examine women with abnormal pap smears without travel.

AGH is also in the process of planning a women’s health talk, which will occur on Oct. 20, location TBD.

AGH wanted to personally thank the gold sponsors of their event: HF Sinclair, JS Ward & Son, Pecos Valley Production, MPLX, L&R Well Service and Charlie’s Field Supply.

For Salgado’s final comment she said she wanted “to encourage all eligible women to schedule their mammograms.”
