Crime scene tape secured the scene at the Dollar Tree, 416 N. 26th St., Thursday following a breaking and entering at the business. Artesia Police Department officers were dispatched just before 9 a.m. to the store in reference to the crime, which occurred, APD Cmdr. Lindell Smith says, sometime between 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and 8:40 a.m. Thursday. Smith says a front window of the business was entered, and the suspect(s) then gained entry to the manager’s office, from which valuables were taken. Anyone with potential information on this crime or the person(s) responsible is urged to call the APD at 746-5000.
