An Artesia resident has been charged in the shooting death of 26-year-old local business owner Joshua Rolan.

Andrew Dunn, 24, was arrested Friday, Dec. 3, and charged with involuntary manslaughter following an investigation into the shooting death of Rolan, co-owner of the Tread Shed, a local skateboard and apparel store.

According to the criminal complaint, Dunn, Rolan and two other friends were consuming alcohol at the victim’s residence on the evening in question. Dunn admitted to “playing with a gun,” resulting in the discharge of the firearm, which consequently killed Rolan.

Dunn said during his interview with an investigator that he began the evening at a friend’s girlfriend’s house at approximately 7:30 p.m., where he consumed five to six beers. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
