Dr. Jeffrey L. Boone, MD, MS and founder and director of the Boone Heart Institute, visited the Yucca Healthcare Center last week to perform cardiograms using the latest cardiac imaging techniques on more than 100 Artesia athletes. How much did it cost? Thanks to the Chase family and the Chase Foundation, not a cent.
“Our work is primarily about preventing and detecting early heart disease,” Boone said. “And in doing that over the past 20 or 30 years, we’ve had some very interesting clients.” … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
Aside from his work with the Boone Heart Institute, Boone is also the national director of the NFL Alumni Testing Program. Traveling all over the world, Boone and his team bring their portable testing equipment designed to find early heart disease and other heart-related issues in NFL athletes.
