The Artesia FFA Chapter attended the District Contest in Hagerman Dec. 7, where chapter members competed in Greenhand Creed, Greenhand Quiz and Junior High Creed.

Members from other chapters, including Goddard, Hobbs, Carlsbad, Hagerman and Dexter, also competed at this contest. The Artesia Chapter took five members to compete in each contest and came home with multiple awards and smiles their faces.

The members who placed first through fifth will attend the State Contest in Las Cruces in June. They have been working throughout the semester, and their work has paid off … or as they say in the creed, they now have “honest wealth.”

The Junior High Creed Competitors consisted of Marianna Salcido, Kristy Cano, Cooper Hall, Nicole Moss and Donna Solt. In this contest, members must recite “The FFA Creed” and answer questions from a test bank. This is a judged event where contestants are scored based on presentation and accuracy as well as how they answer the question. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
