For the last eight months, both Artesia Fire Chief J.D. Hummingbird and Fire Marshal James Abner have been patiently waiting and meticulously planning for this upcoming Tuesday.

“A lot of it has to do with not are we doing things but are we documenting everything in the right way,” Chief Hummingbird said. “So, we’ll be demonstrating to them that we are in fact capable of performing or handling everything they’ll be grading us on.”
