Artesia Fire Department prepared for upcoming ISO review

For the last eight months, both Artesia Fire Chief J.D. Hummingbird and Fire Marshal James Abner have been patiently waiting and meticulously planning for this upcoming Tuesday.
As Chief Hummingbird mentioned to the Artesia City Council last week, from Tuesday until Friday, or from July 17-20, the Artesia Fire Department will take part in an Insurance Service Offices (ISO) review for the community. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
“A lot of it has to do with not are we doing things but are we documenting everything in the right way,” Chief Hummingbird said. “So, we’ll be demonstrating to them that we are in fact capable of performing or handling everything they’ll be grading us on.”
