The Artesia Chamber of Commerce and the Artesia Trail-Blazers were proud to host this year’s New Teacher Breakfast, in the TLC Building of First Baptist Church Thursday morning, while staff from the Adobe Rose restaurant served the meal. As of today, there are 43 newly hired, certified teachers being sent out into their designated positions throughout the district. Superintendent Dr. Crit Caton issued a warm welcome to all the new staff and praised their willingness to serve in the education industry as so many are currently leaving the profession or choosing not to go into it at all. Hayley Klein, the executive director of the Artesia Chamber of commerce, along with her staff, thanked all of this year’s sponsors for making the event a success as well as for providing door prizes to all the new hires. Klein also noted that she is grateful that so many native Artesians are returning to the district to teach, and that it is a testament to the values instilled here in the Artesia community. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
