A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 18, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Augustina O. Perez of Lubbock, Texas.
Perez, 83, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at her home in Lubbock.
Fr. V.J. will officiate the services, with interment to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Mata, Henry Perez, Roy Ortiz, Tony Perez Jr., Secundino Perez Jr. and Michael Perez.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at Our Lady of Grace. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. today at the church.
Augustina was born Aug. 28, 1934, in Mexico, the daughter of Antonio and Jesusita Ortiz.
She moved to El Paso, Texas, and married Frank Perez on Jan. 1, 1967. Later that year, the couple moved to Lubbock, where they have resided since.
Augustina worked as a supervisor for housekeeping at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock for 25 years. She was a devout Catholic lady who enjoyed cooking and baking, and loved to spend time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Frank, of the family home; son Tony Perez of Lubbock; brother Rogelio Ortiz of Lubbock; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one sister.
