American Dream takes home top prize The American Dream BBQ Team of Tecumseh, Okla., was awarded Grand Champion Saturday of this year’s Smokin’ on the Pecos New Mexico State BBQ Championship. Pictured from left are team members Conner Patton, David Qualls and Chris Qualls. “It’s been a Cinderella year for us,” said David Qualls. “We knew we had a good cook starting out today. This was a well-run contest, and there were a lot of big teams here.” The American Dream also took first place in pork.
